Resident Dog by Nicole England
Incredible homes and the dogs that live there

Pedigree or rescue, puppy or old timer, dogs make themselves at home in even the most elegant and considered of residences.

In her experience photographing architecture and interiors, Nicole discovered that the shoots she enjoyed most were the ones where a dog was present. And the photographs that captured a mischievous pup frolicking down a sculptural staircase or a snoozy hound stretching out on the designer lounge had an irrepressible sense of approachability and vitality.

Resident Dog became a personal project that evolved into a book, Resident Dog: Incredible Homes and the Dogs That Live There, published by Thames & Hudson in 2018. Featuring dogs and their homes from all around Australia, the book captured the hearts of both architecture and dog lovers around the world. The first edition sold out in only four weeks, and a compact version was published in 2020.
